Cameron McKirdy with Rick McCrank creating Abandoned Ep. 5 on VICELAND

Look out for Oregonian Cameron McKirdy on VICELAND’s “Abandoned” episode #5 called Nuclear Waste.  It’s a new travel documentary type show featuring deserted places.  I guided the VICE TV crew around our area, and shared my story.  Producers from British Columbia, Canada filmed the host, Professional Skateboarder Rick McCrank and I discussing preparations for a nuclear disaster, and a tsunami.  VICE and I took my Volkswagon van for a ride along the ocean in Long Beach, Washington looking for shelter, plus debris from the 2011 Japanese tsunami.

Over two days we built emergency preparedness kits with ammo boxes to bury in the ground along escape routes, like I have shown on my YouTube Channel called Survival Bros.  We scavenged free health food samples from A Gypsy’s Whimsy, and purchased essential gear items to cache at more stores located in Astoria and Seaside, OR.  The #survival kit I helped McCrank build should help him endure a disaster if he keeps it close by.  I always have my emergency Go-Bag with me.
ON AIR you should see me (Cam The Cuddler) hugging people and chatting about my life as a certified professional cuddler.  Check out CuddleLife.com for more information and to read my FAQs.  I offer a platonic touch service, and I’m open to trades and donations.  Typically I get one dollar per minute to care for people.  I believe cuddling is therapeutic, and a fun and safe way to get the positive human touch we all need to survive.

Emergency Go Bag Example Items Listed from Survival Bros

By Cameron McKirdy

After watching this HD video guide, you’ll know the type of stuff in a Bug-Out Bag.  His example works for his needs.  People create these emergency preparedness backpacks with survival gear just in case of a disaster.  It’s important to have supplies like these items listed handy.  Keep them secure.

Survival Bros Challenge:  Make an emergency Go Bag kit like this, and give it to a loved one.  Have fun loading out a backpack.  Please share this video with a friend, comment, and like.

Safeway Parking Lot Car Camping Experience in Astoria Oregon

By Cameron McKirdy

Survival Bros sleeps in a 1986 Volkswagen Vanagon GL, down by the Columbia River for free.  There’s a row of RV parking near the Safeway gas station in Astoria, OR.  It’s an ideal place for travelers to crash without having to drop big bucks on a hotel.  This location is something for car campers to consider when visiting Clatsop County.  There’s not many spots where you can camp overnight within city limits, since being homeless is a (victimless) crime.  Find out if the Army of sea lions drove me crazy from all the noise.  More van dwelling videos, and tips on our emergency preparedness blog http://www.survivalbros.com

Double Rainbow in Seaside Oregon at The Beach HD Video 2014

By Cameron McKirdy

The colors!  Witness a double rainbow going into the Pacific Ocean.  Filmed in HD on the Prom near 12th Ave. in Seaside, Oregon.  I had to chase down these spectacular rainbows in my VW van, and record this silly video for you.  This is one of my favorite spots in down to hang out, and people watch.  For more adventures, car camping videos, and product reviews visit http://www.survivalbros.com

Cliff Walk at Oregon Beach in Oswald West State Park – GoPro

Scary GoPro Black High-Definition video footage at Devil’s Cauldron from Survival Bros.  Shot with my HD Head Camera on, while walking above a rocky cliff near the Oregon Coast Trail.  This state long hiking trail follows the shore, and includes sections on paved Highway 101.  These cliffs are close to the Neahkahnie Mountain trail head.  More GoPro videos coming soon on this blog.  Exciting, I know!

Be safe outdoors.  And remember, it didn’t happen unless there’s video proof of it.  Email me at thesurvivalbros@gmail.com if you have questions, comments, or would like to share an article/something you’ve produced.  I’m always looking for EDC pictures.  So let’s see the pocket dumps, and which items you find useful daily.  Thanks.
